Keep them cool at all times.

Strip the leaves from the bottom half of each stem.

Make sure you remove the woody bases of the stems and place them in water immediately.

Make sure not to crush the stem ends.

Always use a preservative, as this helps buds to open and keeps the flowers looking fresh.

Replace the water and preservative every 2 to 3 days.
